In his late 20s, Michael’s birth mother found him, and with her came the revelation of a brother he had never known. As the two reconnected, they uncovered remarkable parallels in their lives: they had grown up surfing the same breaks, attending each other’s gigs, and sharing a love for music, all while remaining strangers.
What began as a chance reunion grew into a decades-long relationship and, eventually, a creative collaboration. With their release, My Brother & Me, draws on an eclectic blend of influences—from the infectious hooks of the early1980s alternative new wave and the energy of early Southern California punk to the harmonies of 1960s Beach Boys.
